Join me in the Land of Vikings
September 8-14, 2018
Nature is your religion and wild spaces are your cathedral. You are seduced by the multitude of greens that can sprout from the earth, and the bedazzlement of blue-orange-purples that shine from the sky. Rocky cliffs feel like a siren’s call to you, and perched on the ocean’s edge you can almost hear the mermaids calling you home. Ancient trees and tangled forest woods stir deep memories whose names are legend. Rainbows can make you weep with joy, and you have no problem stopping your conversation, your meal or your work to worship one. Standing beneath a waterfall fills your head with song. It could almost be the sound of your own fairy tale.
Come meet your soul sanctuary in Iceland.
We’ll sail blue rivers and worship at waterfalls. We’ll explore mythic ice caves and climb the green hills of lost legends. We’ll ride Viking horses along rocky cliffs and dip our toes in the REAL blue lagoon…a milky blue steam bath made from the earth’s molten core. We’ll befriend glaciers, dance with volcanoes and swim with the selkies.
Our tour is based in beautiful Reykjavik. A charming and quirky town whose Viking roots are still alive and well. “Reykjavik” literally means “Smoky bay” and we’ll see some of that fog roll in off the coast as e sample their cuisine, drink the local libations, and soak up the town’s colorful atmosphere. (It was recently voted one of the most colorful towns on the planet!)
Reykjavik was the first settlement of Iceland, and the locals have gone a long way to keep it safe, clean and full of character. You’ll find street art throughout, funky shops, swans gliding through open waters and an incredible amount of charm.
From our home base we’ll be exploring the breathtaking terrain of Iceland. These day tours include a visit to an ice cave, a stunning walk along blue glaciers, a Game of Thrones film location tour (this is the home of the wildlings!), visits to some of the most staggering waterfalls in the world, and a trip to the REAL blue lagoon (a natural mineral spa to inspire all your senses.)
We’ll be sharing a gorgeous home in downtown Reykjavik, giving us the opportunity to eat, drink and travel as a small tribe of wanderlusters. We’ll share stories, have adventures and share a toast or three with the Vikings. Skol!
